  Follow the instructions in the textbook, page 65, along with these extra requirements: step 1: when answering this question, include the 4 elements from activity 3.2- which are: common setting, Iconography, Narrative, and Characters.  step 2: what are the common, repeated techniques of the genre included in the film you chose? Include examples of camera work, editing, sound, and mise en scene.  step 3: What are the new/interesting elements added to the film that separates it from the rest? Add details from your film. step 4: identify how the film reflects changes in society or political or cultural issues of today.  step 5: Provide the marketing materials used, like movie poster and social media advertisements. Genre Research (part 1)

 What is the genre? What are common elements, narratives, and techniques within this genre? The genre I am filming is horror. The common elements are fear of the unknown, isolation, supernatural & the uncanny, psychological horror, societal fears and body horror. The narratives are relatable protagonists, escalating dread, the monster/antagonist, the "final girl" and ambiguous endings. The techniques used are the atmosphere & setting, suspense & pacing, foreshadowing sensory details, psychological manipulation and visuals (film).  Film list- provide a list of popular films since the beginning of your genre. Provide descriptions for each and explain why the films were i mportant to the development of the genre we have today. Who directed and produced the films?
