CCR question 3
How did your production skills develop throughout this project?
Explain how your skills grew from beginner to intermediate: I started out not knowing what to do when originally making the first go round project of the original static doors. Since then, I latched onto my idea and wanted to expand on the world building for this movie that's normally seen throughout movies.
Share the process of research and planning: I was inspired by films like IT and WEAPONS to create this idea of horror, the one where it's a mystery for what's going on throughout a small local place. But since the project has to be shorter than a regular movie, the scale needed to be shrunk down for the story for it to be a good film. So the story had to follow a one person mystery to figure out what's going on with this noise that starts out from the tv, but continues on through these doors that aren't normal. So that's where the story begins sorta inspired by the backrooms.
Share the process of team collaboration and idea generating: The collaboration came from my cast with them giving me some advice on how the scene should play out or even where to film for certain parts of the story.
Explain the whole process, from planning to production to post production: The planning wasn't easy, for coming up with ideas meant that I had to be inspired by preexisting media and had to come up with an original idea while still feeling familiar to the genre that I wanted to explore in. Then when production came around, it was a little tricky to get the creative film idea that I wanted to have from the limitations being brought by the guideline requirements for this project and had to balance re-shoots with post production while I would be in the middle of editing the film itself.
Explain how you began using basic tools, and through their limitations made you move on to more advanced software (premiere pro):
Explain how you faced problems and technical limitations and how did you fix them: I faced problems of storage usage on the camera I used to record and it was also just learning on how to use the camera properly. Meanwhile I also needed to do reshots so that way the movie could make more sense, so it was just a matter on planning that out.
Explain how you learned different rules of composition: I learned how to incorporate the different rules of composition like rule of thirds into the film, when filming some of the scenes needed for this project.
Explain how you learned basics of the camera and its manual settings (shutter speed, ISO, white balance, color temperature, focus points, frame rates, etc.): I learned everything on the go of filming and it really helped, for it made it all apart of the natural creative process needed for working on a project like this one.
Explain how you learned different types of camera movements, shots, and angles: Same thing, just by being in the moment, getting a good look at being the cinematographer and seeing behind the camera what needed to be recorded for everything to make sense in a scene.
Explain how you learned to use different types of lighting and shadows in your production: I used natural lighting and artificial lighting to help me capture a scene to make it visible of what time it is for the part of the film when its taken place
Explain how you learned to use different type faces and fonts:
Explain how you learned to manage the hectic process of post-production: By using time wisely, it helped me with dealing with the editing and the process of putting the movie together in its proper order.
