The fail that was the misunderstanding was me not realizing that the movie had to be 2 minutes which makes the project even worse from before. The original project I had in mind was to make my movie 5 minutes long and it was a successful screening until I was pointed out about the timing. So the original idea will be uploaded but it isn't the final that needs to be submitted into Cambridge.

How did you integrate technologies- software, hardware, and online- in this project? Explain different types of tools and technologies helped you throughout the project: I used a cam-corder to be my camera to capture this project with the help of a tripod set up to capture some shots that aren't tracking. I also used Adobe premiere pro to edit the movie and have pix-abate to give the sound effects and music needed for this project. Explain the usefulness of You Tube tutorials and internet research: Internet research helped for showing me some media in horror that gave me the inspiration for this project. With a lot of the inspiration coming from the You Tube series called the backrooms with it having its own movie soon. Explain how did you learn to use hacks and DIY throughout the project: The costumes were DIY for this film, mainly through the monster since it is a old Halloween costume that I had back in middle school, and so I made my mother wear it and she became the monster i...

How did your production skills develop throughout this project? Explain how your skills grew from beginner to intermediate: I started out not knowing what to do when originally making the first go round project of the original static doors. Since then, I latched onto my idea and wanted to expand on the world building for this movie that's normally seen throughout movies. Share the process of research and planning: I was inspired by films like IT and WEAPONS to create this idea of horror, the one where it's a mystery for what's going on throughout a small local place. But since the project has to be shorter than a regular movie, the scale needed to be shrunk down for the story for it to be a good film. So the story had to follow a one person mystery to figure out what's going on with this noise that starts out from the tv, but continues on through these doors that aren't normal. So that's where the story begins sorta inspired by the backrooms. Share the process ...

How does your product engage with audiences and how would it be distributed as a real media text? Explain how you chose your genre, and the types of audiences that your genre appeals to: Horror has always been something that has stuck with me ever since I was younger, even though I will admit, I am a big chicken when it comes to scary stuff. But with me growing up, my courage also grows up for I start to like scary stuff and have become a fan for the genre. So to be a fan and allow creative freedom inspired by other iterations of horror is really nice for it to also have that sense of mystery which allows for more entertaining horror in my opinion since I grow found of movies with a plot then rather a psycho killer. Discuss research on Audience theories and try to relate your product with them- especially Reception Theory, Participatory Culture, Cultivation Theory, Hypodermic Needle Theory: Explain your plans to distribute your product to the targeted audience (including marketing): I ...

How does your project use or challenge conventions and how does it represent social groups or issues? Explain your product: My product is a movie or story that focuses on curiosity and the consequences that people have with issues of whether they could but not think about whether they should, sorta like the creation of the dinosaurs in Jurassic park franchise. The whole thing is that curiosity leads us to our own downfall and that we need to be safe with what our curiosity leads us to bring Social issue/group and why did you choose it: women are normally portrayed as helpless individuals in horror media and I wanted to go against that by showing how the main character is not afraid of what danger lies ahead and letting her courage guide her. Explain your research of codes and conventions to showcase social issues/groups in film: I decided to use a cam-corder to help give a unnatural feel for horror that makes it rem-anise to found footage and goes back to analog horror, to help sh...
original concept

The original concept for this movie is about exploring the places and uncovering demons that live behind the doors. The only way to uncover this illogical place is to find static and enter a door close by. It was originally going to be caused by a haunted house with some kids exploring the abandoned place and one of the kids hears the static and then finds a door. They would then be led to this dystopian place of horrors. One of these doors was going to hide a room full of missing posters to all the victims who have fallen to this place of madness with the main character finding missing posters of them-self.

Casting my characters is a little bit tricky due to that of scheduling when and how to film a long with having a good cast of people that are willing to help and be cooperative. So I kindly asked some friends and family to help me out with this project of mine. I casted Stephaine Barcelo to be the monster as she was willing to be the monster of the movie and no one would really get back to me on preforming in that role. For the main character, I casted Ainsley Rector as she was willing to be freeing up her schedule to be filming this project and wasn't afraid to have some directive criticism. They both equally helped with this project and was willing to help me work on filming and gave me some ideas while in the process of making the project static doors.

The process of editing is a bit tiring. While editing, I had to do some re-shots and bring back up production to add scenes into the film. So all of this was hard because at the time, I had to balance the other stuff going on in my life that needed to be taken care of. But it was also fun since it allowed me to explore creative freedoms and express the artistic side of me.
